Unleash your inner freak and discover your unique potential.

Think of the thing that makes you strange - the weakness that you won't admit during a job interview or performance evaluation. Well, have you ever thought that the foundation of your success might be found in that weakness? Are you embracing your inner freak, or are you hiding it in order to conform and maintain the status quo?

David Rendall believes that amplifying your weaknesses is crucial for your success, and he encourages you to do the same.

In The Freak Factor, David argues that what makes you weird also makes you exceptional and what makes you weak also makes you strong.

Embrace your freak factor, and discover

  • Greater personal happiness, fulfillment, and energy
  • More meaningful relationships with family and friends
  • Increased employee engagement and productivity
  • Better business strategy and marketing

Your greatest weakness is also your greatest strength. Find out how maximizing your freak factor can transform your life, work, and relationships.

The Freak Factor Discovering Uniqueness by Flaunting Weakness (Audible Audio Edition) David J Rendall Advantage Media Group Books

Everyone should read this book and try to find Dave's speech online or see him in person. He goes against most of the conventional wisdom of if you try hard enough at something you will be exceptional. Instead of working on those things you are bad at it, Rendall says we should take inventory of our natural stronger traits (sometimes considered as weaknesses) and harness those into greatness and a more satisfying existence. A six foot tall man is not going to make a good jockey no matter how hard he tries..If there are things in your life that you consider to be your greatest weakness, there is likely a directly correlated strength. For example, I consider my greatest weakness to be disorganized and chaotic - the corresponding strengths that I picked for myself were creative and innovative. I chose a field where it is a huge disadvantage to be disorganized and my creativity is completely stifled. I have for years read books on and implemented techniques to help me be more organized to grow in a career that never felt quite right. However, I should have focused on what I was naturally good at years ago instead of focusing on efforts to become mediocre at something I was only doing for a "secure" living. I am obviously not going to quit tomorrow, but I am focusing every day on using my creativity to create a new life for myself and it is already paying dividends. I also had the take away of delegating your weaknesses. Instead of reading books on being organized, I am delegating that weakness to someone who is exceptionally organized.

The Freak Factor Discovering Uniqueness by Flaunting Weakness (Audible Audio Edition) David J Rendall Advantage Media Group Books Reviews

I love this book! The very concept was appealing but then to get into it and see the practical applications of the key thought - unbelievable! I see myself differently after reading this, I have developed a comfort in the things that are different about me. Before I definitely played those "freak factors" down and after reading this book - I FLAUNT them! Anyone who wants to carefully challenge what you believe about yourself or others should read this book.
In The Freak Factor, David Rendall is able to capture the very essence of today's worker. All of our lives we are taught to be normal and if we are not, then we need to work hard on the areas of our weaknesses to conform to normality. Instead of fitting into the mold that education, organizations, and society have taught and trained us to fit into; Dave instructs us that we should "Freak Out" rather than "Fit In". We all are "Freaks" in our own way but the trick is to find your "Circus" and let your "Freak Flag Fly". I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever been told that they have a problem. Instead of minimizing these areas, take the advice of David Rendall and "Exaggerate" what it is that makes you a freak. So, FREAK ON!
The Freak Factor is an insightful, hilarious, and thought-provoking read. This book promises to set you free to be YOU! So often we take ourselves so seriously and spend many hours working on strengthening our weaknesses, this book has completely changed my mindset on this. They make me who I am and I am grateful for that, but here's the great news... every weakness has a corresponding strength! Thank you for this perspective! I am a happy Freak! Add this book to your library, it is an excellent reference book as well.
I bought this for my son who has 'weaknesses'. I thumbed through the book and found it to be easy to read and relateable. I hope it will inspire my son because society sure is hard on people who are not the X-bar.
This should be a mandatory read for all managers, supervisors, and employees the world over. This is a top notch business and management book.
Buying this book is a step toward the extraordinary! David Rendall takes a hard look at why people are the way they are and has found that by being forced into conformity we loose our uniqueness. This uniqueness makes us rare. By being rare we become valuable.

You have special skills, abilities and talents that your organization claims to prize but doesn't always allow you the freedom to shine. You fail at certain things along the way and feel like a failure because you are not good at everything. Rendall tells us to STOP trying to be great at the things we don't like and don't have a talent for. Focus that energy toward being exceptional at your key strengths.

We are all freaks (some more than others). Your 'freakiness' makes you special and we need you to let your freak out!
I first heard David Rendall speak about the Freak Factor at Duke University. At first I thought his thesis that "what we see as weaknesses are keys to our strengths" was business heresy. Most MBA curriculum train people and businesses to be "well rounded" at nearly any cost.

Three years later I have applied the Freak Factor dozens of consulting projects - from sustainable investments of state oil revenues in Azerbaijan to helping non-profit organizations in Israel.

I am now starting a business training program for immigrant entrepreneurs in Jerusalem, Israel. Every week I meet with talented people who have beet told over and over again that they need to suppress their uniqueness and fit into the local labor market. Talented people, often with advanced degrees and great experience are told to be happy with work that does not fit their talents so they can be "normal". Many people I meet reject the Freak Factor, telling me that it is rebellious. The ones who do give it a shot come back loving it. Thank you David.
